Welcome to the Wash-ups! This is a place where genealogists help genealogists. It seems that every forum or list I have been on, people are only interested in getting information for themselves, not stopping to think who will be the person to take time out of their own research to help them. As a result, very few people get help, let alone a response back saying "sorry, I looked, but couldn't find anything". So you end up checking your email 50 times a day, waiting for SOMEONE, ANYONE to at least acknowledge you posted a message, but it's all in vain. With this list, I hope to find people who are willing to become a part of a close group of genealogists. Even if you can't further along someone's research, it would be nice to have a place where you can share the happiness of finding a long-lost relative, or a place where you can fume about it when you can't even get a decent lead. So that's what this list is all about. I hope that you enjoy it! (Created 1/21/1999, so don't expect a lot of members just yet!)
